Animal Care Staff: If you are interested in working directly with our pets, we have openings for many shifts. Shift times are 7am-3pm or 3pm-9pm. Weekends and holidays are a requirement. Position involves overall care of both cats and dogs, you must be comfortable working with both. Tasks include feeding, walking, cleaning (and cleaning, and cleaning), handling pets, and more! Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Transport Coordinator: Arrange intake for cats and dogs coming to our shelter from our rescue partners in other states. Select animals appropriate for transport.  Schedule transports with pet transport companies.  Cultivate relationships with current and new rescue groups to meet established goals. Communicate via phone and email, both internally and externally. Enter information into our database for each pet (e.g., name, breed, age, weight, vaccinations, medical history, etc.).  Verify rescue groups are sending pets that meet our intake requirements.  Approve reimbursements for rescue groups and transportation fees. This is a full time position.  Availability to handle occasional emergency calls via phone when not at the shelter is required. The ideal candidate must have a realistic view of animal rescue (i.e., be able to screen out pets who are not readily adoptable), be a good communicator, be comfortable with computers, and be detail-oriented. Veterinarian: We are seeking a part-time or full-time veterinarian to join our team. The ability to work weekends is desirable. The ideal candidate will have experience and a keen interest in shelter work. Routine tasks currently include daily health exams, diagnosis, prescribing medications, administering shots, and meeting with adopters as needed. Or, if you would rather just do dental extractions and/or spay/neuter surgeries on a flexible schedule, we can custom-tailor a job for you. Click here to fill out our online application.

We are always looking for compassionate, dedicated volunteers to help. Most of our staff have started out as volunteers. We always need volunteers to help with cats and dogs, especially our 7-11am shifts.
