Other Ways to Give

Whether you create a legacy for the future, or make an immediate difference today, there are meaningful ways to show your support and help us continue to save the lives of thousands of homeless animals each year.

For clarification of any of these ways to give, email Laurie McCannon at laurie@northeastanimalshelter.org or call (978) 745-9888.

Read how Hazel Ford, a committed cat lover, ensured that homeless cats and dogs are rescued, cared for properly and placed in permanent homes.

Planned Giving

Including Northeast Animal Shelter in your estate planning allows you to make a profound and lasting impact on the future of our life-saving programs. It also ensures that your generous spirit will continue to help us rescue countless animals in need.

When naming the Shelter in your will, you may leave a specific dollar amount, a set percentage of your estate, or a particular property.  You can also name Northeast Animal Shelter as the beneficiary of your retirement plan, life insurance policy, bank account, mutual fund, charitable remainder trust, or charitable lead trust.  Each of these options may help you reduce your estate taxes. Northeast Animal Shelter's tax ID# is 510183474.

Please let us know if you have included Northeast Animal Shelter in your estate planning so we can thank you and celebrate your generosity! You can email Laurie McCannon at laurie@northeastanimalshelter.org or call (978) 745-9888.

Friends of Northeast Animal Shelter are encouraged to consult their financial or legal advisors when considering estate planning options.

Gifts of Stocks and Bonds

Donating appreciated stocks or bonds to Northeast Animal Shelter is sometimes more advantageous than gifts of cash. HereÕs why:

  1. You avoid paying capital gains taxes when you contribute appreciated stocks or bonds directly to the Shelter.
  2. You deduct the full value of the stock or bond as a charitable contribution, saving income taxes and lowering the effective cost of your gift.
  3. The full value of your gift of stocks or bonds helps Northeast Animal Shelter and our life-saving programs, while you receive a significant tax break.

If you are planning on giving a gift of stocks or bonds to Northeast Animal Shelter please email Laurie McCannon at laurie@northeastanimalshelter.org or call (978) 745-9888.

Friends of Northeast Animal Shelter are urged to consult their financial or legal advisors when considering estate planning options.

Things We Need

Running an animal shelter is an expensive endeavor. While animals are in our care, they receive the best medical attention, sound nutrition and a clean, safe environment...all of which require supplies. And you may be able to provide us with these supplies.

Please take a moment to review a list of things we needÉanything you can provide the Shelter will be greatly appreciated.

Anything you can do to assist us in helping our animals will make an enormous difference! Gift certificates to local pet supply stores or supermarkets are also always welcome.

You can always drop off your donated supplies if you live in the area (get directions), or send gifts to the following address:
