Getting Choo-Choo Back on Track Northeast Animal Shelter Dog

Choo-Choo, a long-haired Chihuahua mix, found himself all alone in the middle of winter. He was homeless, cold and desperately hungry when he was picked up by a local Animal Control Officer. Under state law, strays like Choo-Choo have to be held in a holding facility for 10 days to see if their owner might be located.

Several days passed and no one came forward to claim poor Choo-Choo. But with the help of Northeast Animal Shelter, Choo-Choo's luck was about to change.

A Thank You From Sundance

A few weeks ago, Sundance came to us with life-threatening injuries - his pelvis was shattered and his leg had to be amputated.

But because of the generous support from our friends, we were able to pay for the surgery he needed. We are thrilled that he is responding amazingly well to treatment and will soon be ready for a forever home.

Though still in recovery, Sundance has finally gotten his stitches removed... he's even started playing with Butch again! With your support, we can help many more animals like Sundance make miracle recoveries and find loving homes!

A Joyful Reunion
Everyone can imagine the heartbreak of losing a beloved pet. You spend countless hours searching the neighborhood and calling animal shelters, wondering if you will ever see your companion again. This was the case for Paula and her adorable cat Randy. Randy was an exceptionally smart and obedient cat. That's why during a vacation last summer, Paula felt perfectly comfortable letting him meander about in their friends' backyard.

But then the unthinkable happened - Randy disappeared.
These electricians were in fur a shocking surprise!

You may have heard of "The Dog Days of Summer," but do you know when it's "Kitten Season"? Two electricians can tell you. While working in an empty building in downtown Salem, Carlos and Jeremy made an unexpected discovery - three newborn kittens nestled on old rags in a dark corner!

Carlos and Jeremy were surprised to learn that these were just three of the countless homeless kittens born each spring and summer. Their "routine delivery" could have been just another casualty of the kitten season.
