Adoption Success Stories

Unfortunately, many animals that find their way to Northeast Animal Shelter often have unbelievable stories leading up to their rescue. But thanks to loving adoptive families, these stories have wonderful endings.

Hazel

Hazel was rescued with 14 other precious dogs through our Puppies Across America Program. When she arrived at the shelter, she was malnourished, exhausted...and pregnant! While we couldn't imagine the hardships she'd endured, we were thrilled to know it was not only Hazel's life we were saving, but also her litter of puppies.

We placed Hazel in one of the private isolation rooms in our new facility so we could keep her calm and comfortable. Soon, it was clear she was almost ready to give birth.
