On Saturday, July 23rd, NEAS will be taking part in the national “Clear The Shelters” Campaign sponsored by NECN, NBC, and Telemundo.
Clear the Shelters Day is a national effort to help homeless pets find loving forever homes. Last year, nearly 19,000 pets were adopted, but millions more remain homeless. Every year, 7.6 million animals end up in shelters nationwide — and only 2.7 million are adopted, according to the ASPCA.
This year, we hope to attract even more people who are interested in adopting a furry friend. As an extra incentive, anyone adopting a pet over two years old will receive 25% off the adoption fee, and all adopters will receive a free care package from Care.com, as well as discount coupons.
Please come and introduce yourself to the dozens of pets who will be available for adoption. We hope to attract even more people than usual. The ultimate goal of the event is to place as many animals as possible in a forever home!
