Animal Care Staff 

If you are interested in working directly with our rescued pets from across the US, we have morning, evening, and weekend shifts open. Shift times are 7am-3pm or 3pm-9pm. Weekends, holidays, and a valid driver’s license are requirements. This position involves the overall care of both cats and dogs. You must be comfortable working with both and be able to routinely lift 50 lbs. Tasks include feeding, walking, cleaning (and cleaning, and cleaning), handling pets, and more! Prior animal work experience preferred. We will respond only to applicants who will be interviewed. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Animal Behavior Associate I

NEAS is seeking a full-time Behavior Associate I to work closely with the Director of Behavior and the Behavior Team to implement, support, and grow NEAS’ behavior program to its full potential. The Behavior Associate will work directly with shelter cats and dogs, evaluating their behavioral health and implementing training plans to increase the adoptability and quality of life in the shelter. Behavior assessments, behavior modification, enrichment protocols, support after adoption, shelter dog play groups, shelter dog classes and feline training sessions. Requirements include: strong customer service skills in dealing with adopters, other departments and volunteers; two years experience in animal sheltering, animal training, or equivalent; basic computer literacy and data entry knowledge.  

 

Animal Behavior Associate II

NEAS is seeking a full-time Behavior Associate II to work closely with the Director of Behavior and the Behavior Team to implement, support, and grow NEAS’ behavior program to its full potential. The Behavior Associate will work directly with shelter cats and dogs, evaluating their behavioral health and implementing training plans to increase the adoptability and quality of life in the shelter. Behavior assessments, behavior modification, behavioral assistance to adopters, shelter dog play groups, shelter dog classes and feline training sessions to other staff and volunteers, post-adoption support, public education, and education of fostercare givers. Requirements include: strong customer service skills in dealing with adopters, other departments and volunteers; two years experience in animal sheltering, animal training, or equivalent; two years working with animal training, behavior and/or equivalent experience; CPDT, KPA, CDBC or CSB-D (or equivalent) highly desired; basic computer literacy and data entry knowledge. BA, BS degree or equivalent work experience desired.
