Giving Special Needs Kittens the Ability to Thrive

Forever Friends Legacy Society

Rev. Dr. Chester Smith’s gentleness and kindness were reflected in all he did. After serving in the Army Signal Corps during WWII, he continued his education, receiving several college degrees. He loved to read anything related to science or sci-fi, but his routine was to start the day with Bible reading. As a hobby, he was a ham radio operator. He had a great sense of humor, which he shared with his family through cartoons he drew and short stories he wrote.

Dr. Smith was not only devoted to his family, his church, and his community, he especially loved cats. We are so thankful that Dr. Smith left a bequest to Northeast Animal Shelter. His thoughtful gift will benefit the many pets we are able to rescue and care for in the future.

We encourage everyone who loves pets to include Northeast Animal Shelter in their estate plans. You can also name the Shelter as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or IRA. A lasting gift of love is one of the easiest, most meaningful ways to perpetuate your support of the thousands of homeless pets we save each year.
