Hi, I am Adam. I’m a really sweet guy looking for my forever home where I can love my person and be loved in return. I enjoy meeting people and am a pretty outgoing and social. I do need some guidance so I can learn how to walk properly on leash, although staff and volunteers are helping me learn proper leash etiquette and I am doing better with this every day. I am taking training classes and learning many good things as well. My favorite thing to do is nose work, because I find tasty treats. I am a lucky guy because I spent a couple of days in a foster home where they discovered that I get along well with their cat and older, more mellow dog! I would do best in an adult-only home as young children tend to make me uneasy. I would be a great buddy for someone who either works from home or is otherwise home a lot though if you have to work all day, I’d do fine alone if you get someone to give me a potty break. Short walks during the day would be great as I have some issues with my “knees” and long walks can cause me some pain. I’d make a really wonderful buddy. Would you be mine?”
4/16/2019: Adam is currently taking a break from the shelter while attending classes at Four Leggers Doggie Daycare. He is enjoying his time away from us and is doing very well. If you are interested in meeting Adam, please call the shelter @ 978-745-9888 and ask to speak with Jenna, or an available Adoption Counselor. Adam is ready to become your best friend.
3/24/2019: Adam is quite the character and he has trained us all very well. Adam is still going on field trips, spending time hanging out in our lobby to greet visitors, amusing himself in various offices, having play dates with other dogs and doing his routine training classes every day. Adam is a strong chewer and when Shelter life becomes too boring for him he likes to redecorate his kennel space. Adam is curious about everything. He enjoys sitting in your chair, watching your screen saver, belly rubs, and riding in the car. Adam is a special dog who is guaranteed to be your best friend for life.
2/18/2019: Adam has been on a few field trips lately with the shelter staff. He’s been to Starbucks and had his first Puppuccino! He was a very well behaved co-pilot in the car. He’s also been to the beach and enjoyed taking in all the sights and smells. Adam would make a great adventure companion!
1/22/2019: Adam is a friendly guy and loves to play with his humans. Adam can get very excited when he plays with you but we’re working hard together to teach him good manners and boundaries. Adam is currently learning how to “sit”. He loves his hard chew toys. He’s also learning how to “heel” because sometimes when he’s out walking on his leash, he gets so excited and can pull hard. He just wants to go and have you keep up with him. His adopters will want to commit to keeping up with his training classes.
