Dot is looking for a loving forever family! She is a little shy with new people and situations, but once she knows you and loves you her true personality will shine through. Dot is best friends with Maggie (125625) and they have even lived together! She will need a family that gives her plenty of time to settle into her new routine. She has been spending some time in a foster home to try to help her gain confidence.
Here is what her foster dad has to say:
“Dot has loosened up quite a bit from when I first brought her home. She still does get easily startled on walks, and would do better with a securely fenced yard. She will only eat wet food right now, but I am trying to get her to eat the dry as treats, and is a work in progress. Her favorite spot to be pet is under her chin. She is an independent gal and does not care for kisses much. Once she is comfortable with you, she will roll over for her belly to be rubbed. She seems to be more mellow in the house and does not do a lot of running around. We have been teaching her that dog bones are what she is allowed to chew on! She does live in harmony with my dog and cat, but likes to chase the cat around. She sometimes likes to pretend she is a little billy goat and will jump onto tables and counters—we are still working on that! She is also quite agile and can jump over a baby gate.”
