Without Sight or Sound,
Simon Finds Love
Simon arrived at a Georgia shelter with three strikes against him – he was old, blind, and hearing-impaired. It didn't matter that he was also sweet, adorable, and cuddly. If he wasn't adopted during the mandatory holding period, he would be put down. So, when a worker at the Georgia shelter called us and asked us to take him in, we readily agreed.

Thanks to our Saving Homeless Pets Across America Program, we transported Simon to our Shelter and gave him all the time he needed to find a loving forever home – and that's just what he did!

One Monday morning, two veterinary technicians arrived at their clinic to find a small, rain-soaked cat carrier at their front door. Inside were two soaking wet, shivering cats. One was huddled at the back of the carrier while the other, whom they named Rainbow, was desperately beating her face against the bars of the cage. The vet staff called us immediately because of our no-kill policy. They knew that if anyone would nurse Rainbow and her sister back to health and find them homes, it would be us.

Both cats needed medical care – but we were confident these trusting, sweet animals would find the homes they deserved. Find out how they did.

Geraldine's Gift
Geraldine Guerriero had many passions. A lifelong music devotee, Geraldine's hobbies included keeping up-to-date on the stock market and browsing antique shops. Yet Geraldine was happiest spending time with her beloved cats.

We were so saddened when Geraldine passed away at 89, but we were honored to be named as a beneficiary in her will. Geraldine's love of animals will live on by benefiting the thousands of pets we are able to care for through her bequest. Learn more about including Northeast Animal Shelter in your will.
